Checklists are handier than To Do lists when it comes to tasks which are performed in groups, more than once. Andreas Hofer saw a need for a checklist program on Palm OS, so he created CheckIt. The program was so popular, it was bought by Mobile Generation. Now, Andreas Hofer works on his Planetarium star charting software for Palm OS.

Mobile Generation had a number of interesting programs for Palm OS, such as Mobile Account Manager (to manage passwords), 3 dimensional Tic-Tac-Toe, Simpledb (a simple freeware database program), and MobileDB (a more complex shareware program). They also had CheckIt, which they renamed to Mobile Checklist Lite 1.5. When they released the next version, they called it Mobile Checklist 2.0. It could now sort tasks alphabetically (no longer just by priority) and copy/beam lists. Mobile Generation merged with Palmspring to become Handmark, who now sells Checklist for Palm and Pocket PC / Windows Mobile for about $15 USD (shareware).

As far as I've seen, the various versions of the Palm OS CheckIt (Checklist) programs are virtually identical. Of all of these versions, I recommend CheckList Lite v1.5, which seems to be the last free version. I downloaded a copy from The S2 Company.
