RecycleBank.com - Earn Rewards and Go Green

I absolutely love websites that reward you for shopping through them and buying things that I would normally buy however I was pleasantly surprised when I found out about RecycleBank.com. RecycleBank.com lets you earn rewards for living green.

How It Works

RecycleBank.com rewards you for performing green actions. Simple things like recycling plastic, turning in old electronics or learning about new ways to go green can earn you rewards. You can also get Recycle Bank points by referring others to sign up. You can then redeem your rewards on free products (like a reusable grocery bag), printing coupons or getting discounts when you shop at your favorite retailers.

Getting Started

Go to RecycleBank.com and sign up for a free account. You need to fill out a simple form in order to create your account. If you have a Facebook account, you can create your RecycleBank.com account using your Facebook login information. This will help you save a few steps. Once you’ve created your account, click on the, “Earn Points” tab and you will find out all of the ways you can earn rewards. If you are already living a “green-friendly” life, you may already be doing some of the things that you see listed.

The Pros

RecycleBank.com has a great concept of rewarding you for helping to improve the environment. If you are already living a “green-friendly” life, then why not get rewarded? If you want to live greener, RecycleBank.com has tons of ideas and information on how you can make a difference.

The Cons

The green actions that you complete on RecycleBank.com have to be verifiable. This means you have to have a points code that you can redeem online or you have to utilize a green program that is already established with RecycleBank.com. For example, we recycle in our neighborhood however since my neighborhood does not have an established relationship with RecycleBank.com, I can’t get points for the items that we recycle through our neighborhood.
