One of the most popular divas in WWE history, Stacey Keibler wasn’t always involved in professional wrestling. She was born in 1979 in Baltimore, Maryland. After high school, she attended Towson University and majored in mass communications. She began dancing at three years old and has a background in jazz, tap and ballet. When the professional football team, Baltimore Ravens began, she was one of the first and youngest cheerleaders they had. She was also featured on a football trading card.
Her wrestling career began in 1999 when she entered a contest held by WCW to find a Nitro Girl. The Nitro Girls were a dance troupe that performed in the ring between matches on the WCW’s Monday Nitro show. Her Nitro Girl name was Skye. At 5’11” tall and legs that measured an astonishing 42” long, the WCW thought she could be utilized better. She was trained as a wrestler at the WCW Power Plant, the WCW’s training facility, She was trained by Dave “Fit” Finlay, Medusa Micelli and Nora Greenwald, who would later become to be known as Molly Holly in the WWE.
Her role in wrestling after being a Nitro girl consisted of her being a manager named Miss Hancock and dressed smartly in a business suit in attempt to “clean up all of the sexuality” in WCW. She managed a tag team that she dubbed “Standards and Practices” and then later managed her real life boyfriend, David Flair, the son of legendary wrestler Ric Flair. David Flair was involved in a storyline relationship with a woman named Daffney and this led to Stacy’s in ring debut as a wrestler at the Bash at the Beach pay-per-view in a wedding gown match against Daffney.
In 2001, when the WWE purchased WCW, her contract was one of twenty-four contracts that were retained by the WWE. In the WWE, she managed Andrew “Test” Martin as his marketing manager. She said that he needed a nickname for his fans. Hulk Hogan had his “Hulkamaniacs” so Test had the “Testicles”. Test was also her real life boyfriend at the time as well. She had notable feuds in WWE with Test when he turned hell and managed Scott Steiner who was feuding with Test at the time. She had feuds with Dawn Marie, Trish Stratus, Molly Holly, Lita and others and finally retired from wrestling in 2006 when her contract expired and she signed a contract with ABC Studios, formerly Touchstone Studios, which is owned by Disney.
Her latest claim to fame was being on the third season of “Dancing with the Stars” and finished third in the competition. She had a recurring role on the TV show “Life with Brian” as Brian’s neighbor and love interest. She has appeared on the George Lopez show and in the 2001 movie “Bubble Boy” and an unaccredited role in the 1998 movie, “Pecker” as the blonde on the bus. Stacey Keibler has also turned down two requests to appear in Playboy.
