The Haunting of Buckskin Joe

Ah, nothing like rummaging in the memories of old and finding the demons in our souls! I love this time of year; besides being the most haunted of seasons, fall reminds us to be reflective and enjoy both the unholy and blessed gifts that life has to offer.

With that piece of nostalgia out of the way, here's another: for those of you in the Colorado area, I have been invited to once again hold a book signing of my novelette, The Haunting of Buckskin Joe: Ghostly Tales from an Old West Town on Saturday, November 1st at Hastings Bookstore, 1811 Fremont Drive located in Caņon City from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M.

Following is a synopsis of the book.

* * *
When Karol Smith and a small group of investors resurrected the Colorado mining town of Buckskin Joe, they probably hadn;t expected to encounter any of its long dead residents. Yet ever since its reincarnation in the late 1950s, employees and guests of the old west tourist attraction located near Caņon City have offered strange, chilling, and even humorous accounts of ghostly sightings and unexplained mishaps.

This collection of eerie stories is based on those passed down by many who have either visited or worked at Buckskin throughout the years. Lights flick on and off for no apparent reason; mysterious footsteps echo along the boardwalks; faces and figures glide through the night. Journey through the dark streets of Buckskin Joe Frontier Town and meet some of its other-wordly inhabitants in one of Colorado's most amazing and enduring old west-themed attractions.

A portion of the proceeds from the books sold during the signing will go to benefit the Caņon City Public Library. If you can, please make a point to at least stop by and say hello!
