There are some basics to tennis string care. Tennis string will deteriorate in the elements, so you want to store your tennis racket in it's case in a warm dry environement. Don't leave it out in the sun or out in the cold. Storing your racket where the temperature can really fluctuate will shorten the life of both your tennis racket and your string.
Tennis string maybe just as important to your game as your tennis racket is. You can adjust your power and your control with the tension of the string. With a thicker gauge string you will have more durability but with thinner string you will have more control and have the ability to put more spin on the ball. The string pattern will also affect the play of the racket. When choosing new string there is a lot of details to consider and you want to make sure that your string compliments your racket and your style of play.
If you are looking to purchase new tennis string, I would reccomend Luxilon Big Banger ALU Power 16Lg string. You can purchase the regular or the rough version of Luxilon's Big Banger string. The rough isn't as durable but will provide more spin and this is the string that Roger Federer uses. This is the most verstile string that I have ever played with. This string is very durable and it will break before it stretches. The Alu Power has execellent feel and great power. Luxilon reccomends that you reduce the tension on the string by 10 % because it doesn't stretch. You never have to reposition your strings between rallies which is a very nice feature. If there is a better string out on the market I have yet to find it.
