Ochoa wins Samsung World Championship

Lorena Ochoa made a strong statement on Sunday when she came from three back at the start of the day to Annika Sorenstam to win two up. Lorena played a remarkable round on Sunday by ending up seven under par with a 65 that was awesome to watch. She was on her game from beginning to end with one putt that was a sixty footer for birdie. It was amazing to watch as she surely was in the zone on Sunday. Her scores for the tournament were 67-73-67-65 to a total of 16 under.

Ochoa remarked after the round, that she thought it was the best round of golf in her professional career. I am sure it was the most satisfying to come from behind to beat Annika. Since Annika has been dominating the LPGA for many years it seems nice to see more young golfers pick up the pace and play remarkable golf. This may give Ochoa a chance to become LPGA tour Player of the Year for her remarkable playing this year.

I checked up to where Michelle Wie finished in this tournament at she ended plus five with scores of 74-72-72-75. It seems she is having trouble reaching the winning circle of the LPGA. I hope Michelle will concentrate on the LPGA instead of trying to break into the PGA group. She needs to get a win in her own field first.

Check with www.lpga.com and catch up on this complete tournament and future tournaments of the LPGA. Ochoa is from Mexico and her friends and family rushed the green to wrap her in the Mexican flag plus celebrate with showering her with champagne. It was great TV to watch this remarkable scoring and we wish Lorena Ochoa the best and much success in the future.

Being able to win against great women golfers around the world is a great undertaking and Ochoa has the game to prove she is a winner. There are many new young players coming up so will be looking forward in the coming years to see if Ochoa can keep her winning ways. She is a star in her own country and watching her family and friends rush forward after her win was wonderful. It is always great to see players put forth that extra effort to win a tournament.
