Only Love RemainsJJ Heller
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Pensive and reflective is this project by JJ Heller. Sometimes we have to shine a light on the dark sides of our stories in order to make them turn into something brighter and that is what Heller does on this acoustic project. Opening with the haunting "Only You" she uses her smooth and soft vocals and skillful guitar strokes to question what we will be known for when it's all said and done. With the lyrics "Everything is known for something. What's it going to be for you?" she makes us take a look at just who we are and what we are trying to do with our lives. Moving on to the ballad "Love Me" she woefully sings of various people who have endured trials and who have cried out for love. Finally ending the tune with the concept that they can receive the unconditional love that only God can provide. Heller sings of the strain between a father of 17 and his daughter on "Make Believe". On "When I Leave" she sings of leaving a behind a great legacy when we leave this earth. Yes she takes listeners to some dark places and makes you think. In the end she sums it up with the tune "Only Love Remains" a great ending because at the end of the deep journey of this CD she sings about only love remaining. Only the love of God can break you down into pieces that can grow until only love remains and Heller sings of this well. You can learn more about JJ Heller at www.jjheller.com

This group's name comes from the scripture in Ephesians 4:29 which states "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." Well if you listen to this project it does exactly that. Opening with the pounding "Searching for a Savior" Jason Roy sings richly of the need for us all to find a savior. The drum beat and the electric guitars on this tune simply rock and kick the project into high gear with the first track. "Fearless" is up next and the passion of being "fearless" in living our lives for God shines completely with each note that Jason sings. A powerful tune with a great message. Teen suicide is addressed on “Home,” Building 429 received a letter from a disturbed young man recently. “A kid was ready to commit suicide – he had already written his letter and placed it on his dresser. His mom walks by his door and tosses our CD on his bed. He listens to it, and it changes his mind,” said band member Scotty Beshears on their website. The songs simply states that "you're not quite through. It's not your time" God has a plan for us as long as we walk this earth. Other cuts of note are the energetic "Fighting to Survive" and the duet "Empty" with Michael Tait. No sophomore jinks for this group another project to build up the saints they have delivered.
