Keeping Track Child Indentification System

Guest Author Jeanette Norman

Outings with a group of young children can be stressful without proper organization. Your main concern on a trip is safety of the children. Accidents are bound to happen and the more prepared you are, the calmer you can remain. Emergency contact information and identification of each child is mandatory to have on you. I would have a folder in our first aid backpack. Now I have been turned on to a new compact system that I am excited to tell you about.

After I published my field trip article, I was contacted by a reader name Deb McCarthy. She has created a great system for day care providers, preschool teachers, even for use in elementary schools! This system is called “Keep Track Emergency Identification Pack.” As you can see from the picture, the pack is a compact pouch that holds everything you need for keeping track of all of your students emergency contact information. In the front of the pouch is an identification card for the Child Care Provide. You provide all the information the case something happens to the adult of the group.

On the inside of the pack, ten emergency cards are provided for the children and they are in a plastic sleeve. One side contains all the information you would need if something were to happen to the child. Parents can fill this out and sign the bottom. Flip the card over and there is a section where the parent gives consent for medical treatment for their child. A space is at the bottom to attach a recent photo of the child.

On the back of the pouch is a handy place for pens and a slot that holds a small pad of mini-accident reports. This is for jotting down details that you may otherwise forget by the time you get to school.

This simple product is ingenious. I don’t know why someone didn’t think about something like this before! Ms. McCarthy has provided us with this product at a time when there are more and more threats to children’s safety. This convenient product would be a valuable addition to the safety measures you already have in place in your center or school.

To order this great product or view more information please visit her website at http://www.keeping-track.com If you do order, Ms. McCarthy is giving you a bonus for mentioning that you read about her product here! Send her a message with your order and you will receive a FREE set of 10 child identification cards and a FREE replacement note pad! That is a savings of $8!
