Evernote - A Review

One of the main pulls of "the cloud" I see as being worth it's application is Evernote.  Evernote is a note-taking application that can be added to and synced with all your other electronic devices.  Evernote is a great way for you to organize and collaborate with others online through sharing. It is designed with you in mind, literally.

The only thing I see as being a con in the scheme of pros and cons is that it can be very overwhelming. It can be overwhelming because you can store anything and for a procrastinator this becomes a problem that get them into trouble. This is really where I see it causing anyone any problems especially if you are easily overwhelmed.

However, realizing this I do like the freedom it offers to organize, keep important things and things of priority handy. Once you are done with a particular note you can always delete it. This helps to keep down the number of notebooks you accumulate as you learn to use Evernote on a daily basis.

If you are anything like me you have a lot of ideas and things going on in your life that you have to be on top of everything in any possible way.  In having to remember everything Evernote is always ready and waiting to absorb your ideas, capture your thoughts or explain your understanding of anything.  In other words it is a way and place to be sure you have what you need at your finger tips no matter where you are or even what kind of web device you use.

Evernote is fairly easy to set-up and register for an account.  You are are allowed a free account. But as with everything online now, you can always pay for upgrades or premium services.  These services add much enhancement to the already dynamic basic application function.

In my researching and learning about how Evernote is and can be used across the many components of life and work, I found it to be very useful.  You can make your notes as detailed or as vague as you like.  You can add photos and videos, if that's your forte.  You can run your business or hobby and even do your school work or any work of research where you have to take notes and remember the sources cited.

I do not recommend putting everything online when using Evernote.  The things that are personal and private need to remain that way. So when using Evernote remember it will be syncing itself to everything from your iPhone and iPad to your desktop.  So your chances of having your account hacked increases.  So please do not post anything your are not sure about posting. Follow your gut it may just save your identity.

So in summary I would recommend giving Evernote a try, especially if you are a freelance writer or you just want to gain some control over your personal life as well.
