Singapore Changi Airport Oxygen Bar

Singapore’s Changi Airport is a favorite with world travelers. The Southeast Asia island-state is the perfect place for a layover. The variety of services offered to its clientele is mind boggling.

One of the many services offered at Changi Airport is the oxygen bar. An oxygen bar is a place to breathe humidified air through a nasal tube. The air has a higher concentration of oxygen. The concentrated oxygen runs through a water bath. The resulting water bubbles humidify the air making it less harsh on the nasal membranes.

The water which is used to humidify the air comes in a variety of scents. The scents supply an aroma to the air. The customer places an order with the bartender or technician, giving the selection(s) of choice. If the customer wants to have a variety of scents during the session, it is possible.

A session in an oxygen bar can vary. It ranges from a minimum of one minute to the maximum of twenty minutes. The cost is charged by the minute. Patrons sit on stools and sip bottle water. The scene is quite serene.

Oxygen therapy is credited with rejuvenation of the body after long flights. The air is reported to aid the immune system. The medical justification is still out, but after being in a closed airplane cabin for many hours it can’t hurt the traveler.

The Oxygen bar is in the Plaza Premium Lounge on Level 3 in Terminal 1. Singapore Changi Airport travelers with extra time before their flight may want to try the experience. Get a boost of oxygen before boarding the plane.

Remember Changi Airport has information desks throughout the airport. Stop by the desks for Changi Airport maps and brochures. The personnel is always willing to help all travelers and visitors.
