My First Story Reader – Product Review

Guest author Jeanette Norman

My first Story Reader is a great way to introduce an older infant to preschooler to reading. The narrator reads aloud to the child while they turn pages. Sound effects and music are added to keep the child’s interest. The child can choose to listen to the story or play interactive games by pushing a switch near the handle. There are three shapes (triangle, circle and square) for use in the games.

One of the great features of this unit is the break away hinge. If a finger or two gets between the pieces, the unit will come apart saving fingers from pinches and bruises. The unit is also lightweight and easy to open.

A set of 3 Baby Einstein titles is included with your purchase. I LOVE Baby Eistein products. My 6 year old son still enjoys the videos. The titles are “Discover Colors,” “Discover Music,” and “Discover the Sky.” Other sets can be purchased including Sesame Street, Winnie the Pooh, and Thomas the Tank Engine. The main unit is only $19.99 and the additional sets are around $16. This is well worth the price!
