One of my New Year’s resolutions was to stay current in my scrapbooks. With traditional scrapbooking that can be a daunting task…as I have found in the past! However, this year I think that I will be able to do it! I have now added digital scrapbooking to my repertoire!

I have always resisted digital scrapbooking because I love the cutting and pasting and doing things with my hands that traditional scrapbooking requires. I also like having the album to physically hold and take places instead of having to view everything on the computer. I never could imagine that I would enjoy being on the computer moving things on my screen. Just didn’t seem like scrapbooking to me.

This morning before heading to the hospital with my husband for surgery I was thinking of something I could do while I waited! I had just gotten my new LifeTimez EZ Digital Creations software right before Christmas and hadn’t uploaded it to my laptop yet. I figured I could at least work on uploading the software and trying to get a feel for how to use it. I never would have dreamed that I would get it figured out and even create a page let alone an entire album! I was shocked at how extremely easy it really was! The thing that took the longest was actually getting the software onto my computer! This LifeTimez program was so EZ to use that I am in total shock. By the time the Doctor came down to report a successful surgery I had already completed an entire album of our trip to the Six Flags Whitewater Park!

Digital Scrapbooking is a lot different than traditional scrapbooking. First off, it was very easy for me to just grab my laptop and have everything that I needed to sit in the waiting room and scrapbook! Secondly, I would have never been able to sit in the waiting room and scrapbook with the mess that I make scrapbooking! I average at least an hour per page with traditional scrapbooking and with this digital album I completed 20 pages in two hours! I will admit that I will never quit traditional scrapbooking. I love it way to much. I am a paper addict and love collecting and then using all of my wonderful papers and embellishments way to much to ever give them up! I LOVE Scrapbooking! However, I don’t dislike digital scrapbooking nearly as much as I thought that I might! I can see myself using my new LifeTimez software quite a bit. I had resigned myself to the fact that I would never be able to catch up on my scrapbooking. With the speedy digital scrapping I can see myself getting much closer to catching up.

Now that I have figured out the software I am excited to get home from the hospital and upload my Christmas pictures from my camera! I plan to complete my 2006 Christmas album tonight and send it for printing! Topline Creations can print a hardbound 20 page 12x12 album for less than I would spend creating a traditional 12x12 20 page scrapbook! I can order as many books as I want or even have it turned into softbound or burned onto a disk with music background or narration!
