The Virtues Of Durood

The Virtues Of Durood

Reciting Durood (also known as Salaat) on Nabi (S.A.W) is such a noble deed and holds tremendous rewards for one who practices it.

Anas R.A. reports that Nabi S.A.W said "In whosoever's presence my name is mentioned he should recite salaat (durood) upon me, and whosoever recites salaat upon me once, on him shall Allah send 10 mercies, and forgive him 10 sins and also raise his rank 10 times."

A person who recites 100 durood, Allah Ta'alah will write the following words on his forehead "Immunity from hypocrisy and Immunity from the fire of Hell." Such a person will be free from hypocrisy and safe from the fire of Jahannum and and will be raised up on the Day Of Judgment with the martyrs.

Ibn Mas'ood R.A. reports that Rasulullah S.A.W. has also said "Recite Salaat upon me much, for in the grave you shall be initially be asked about me."
Nabi S.A.W also said "Recite Salaat on me plentifully for verily it shall be a light in the darkness on the siraat,(The bridge that crosses the fire of Jahannum which is thinner than a hair and sharper than a blade) and whoever desires that his deeds should weigh heavily on the scales, let him recite much Salaat."

Those who recite durood upon Nabi S.A.W will be on the Throne Of Allah on the Day Of Qiyamaah. Our Beloved Prophet S.A.W said "Whoever recites Salaat (Durood) on me in the morning 10 times and in the evening 10 times, for him shall be my intercession on The Day Of Qiyamaah."

Imam Mustaghfiri R.A. reports "Whoever recites 100 times salaat (durood) daily, 100 of his needs shall be fulfilled, 30 in this world and the rest in the hereafter."

There are Angels who wander all over the Earth on order to convey our Durood to Rasulullah S.A.W.

On the Day Of Judgement there will be no shade except the shade of the Throne Of Allah. There will be 3 types of people who will enjoy the Shade of this Throne. The first group will be those who eased the suffering of people afflicted with difficulty. The second group are those who revive the Sunnah (Practices) of Nabi S.A.W. And the third group will be made up of those who recite durood (salaat) upon Nabi S.A.W

As you can see there are so many virtues and benefits for performing such a simple act. May Allah grant you and me the ability to practice upon this. Aameen.
