Juicy (Aphrodisia) by Noelle Mack is up first this time out. Bliss Johnson's latest assignment from the ad agency where she works is to handle the account for Hot Treats, and that means she gets to deal with the hunky Tom, aka Jaz, Claybourn as well, and the two hit it off immediately, in the office and in bed. Bliss and Jaz share all sorts of great promotional ideas and plenty of steamy sex. There's little real conflict here, and no doubt they'll end up together in the end. This one is just an uncomplicated read that'll keep you mildly entertained. I was disappointed with this after her first effort, Three, which I liked much better. Oh well, maybe next time.
Price of Desire (Avon Red) by Leda Swann is next. Caroline Clemens has found out just how much her fiance loves her, though that betrayal somehow isn't all that stinging once she meets Dominic Savage and indulges in a moment of passion she intends to hold her over forever. Her family's losses are complete, and aside from the workhouse, they have no options left. But even the workhouse won't keep them when her former fiance lies to the board. But Dominic wants Caroline, enough to take on her family as well. Along with all the erotic aspects of this tale, there is some real character development, perhaps not as deep as in some other books, but still enough to make this one stand out from much of the 'erotic romance' on the shelves these days. It's not especially complicated, but is quite enjoyable. Not to mention all the hot encounters between Caroline and her new protector Dominic. But can they forge a real relationship? Unlike many of its counterparts in bookstores lately, this one is a real erotic romance, and shines brighter for that reason alone.
Until next time, happy reading!
