I have had my disability my entire life. I use a motorize wheelchair to get around. At home, I crawl to get to point A to point B, but that is another story. Can you believe that I never had a van to make it easier to transport my wheelchair and myself until a week before my 31st birthday?
It took my pregnancy to make the final leap into being a van owner. I always wanted one and felt I needed one, but never got it. Money was the primary reason, but I'm also a decisive shopper. I research and analyze all my purchases. I want the very best out of my money.
Being pregnant getting me in and out of the car was not only difficult but dangerous. I also knew that when I had a baby I needed a vehicle to transport both of us. So it was about time to buy a van.
The van of my choice is a Dodge Grand Caravan with a ramp. I wanted a ramp van because lifts always made me nervous. I love the freedom! I can take my motorized wheelchair anywhere. Everyone says that the van hook up set up is so easy and fast.

Since 1963 Braun Mobility has been in the business of mobility vans. Toyota Sienna and Dodge Caravans are the most used vans for conversions. You can get ramp vans or lift vans. Seats move in the van so you can sit anywhere in the van. If you can drive, you can sit in the drivers area.
