James Morrison - Undiscovered No More

"Undiscovered" by James Morrison was released in the U.S. on March 13, 2007, but Morrison's extraordinary talent had already resulted in this album selling over 1.6 Million copies in his native U. K. There will be no question in your mind as to why he is racing up the charts the moment you hit 'play' and the first tune, Under The Influence, begins. There is a dark, smoky richness that envelopes you instantly and draws you in deeper and deeper into the stories he tells and the music he shares.

James is the co-writer of all the tunes on "Undiscovered", and, based on the information he shares and provided by his publicist about his less than perfect childhood in less than perfect conditions in Britain's impoverished streets, the lyrics are often autobiographical, cathartic, or projections of his hope for the fulfillment of dreams he believes are achievable. If you are a connoisseur of real music, you'll want this CD as much for the haunting music it delivers as access to the lyrics spelled out in the CD insert so you can listen and know, listen and feel, every single word.

I particularly enjoyed "Under The Influence", "You Give Me Something", and "The Pieces Don't Fit Anymore", but one that I think will rise and find wings of its own eventually is "One Last Chance". The rhythm, beat, syncopation, and flow of "One Last Chance" engaged me entirely. Give it a special listen when you add this to your collection.

Production by Martin Terefe, Eg White, and Steve Robson. "Undiscovered" is on the Interscope Label. Co-writers on various tunes on this CD with James Morrison include Jimmy Hogarth, Steve McEwan, Eg White, Martin Brammer, Steve Robson, Tim Kellett, Kevin Andrews, Wayne Hector, David Frank, Julian Gallagher, and Kim Richie.
