ChildHelp National Child Abuse Hotline

I have recently received requests regarding where to go if a person suspects child abuse. There is a website that is rich in information and resources. It is the ChildHelp National Child Abuse Hotline. This hotline is in place for both children and those adults that wish to help a child they believe is being abused. If you suspect a child is being abused, but are not sure of how to go about reporting it, this is one resource that is available year round to call and ask for help. The staff of this organization will be able to direct the caller on how to report their suspicions.

If you are an adult that has had a child confide in you about abuse they are enduring, please refer the child to this hotline. You may also make the call to ChildHelp yourself. All calls are anonymous for both children and adults. The child will be able to make the call from a payphone for safety reasons and it is completely free. They will have the opportunity to call and share what is happening, with a trained counselor. The ChildHelp National Child Abuse Hotline may also be able to refer the child, or yourself, to a local resource.

ChildHelp will also help an adult caller that is in need of emotional support that pertains to their children. The staff of ChildHelp will help an adult who needs help with behavioral issues with their child. Parenting can at times be difficult and needing help through it is normal. The staff of ChildHelp will help the parent to know what is normal behavior and how to approach behavioral issues with their child.

The ChildHelp organization is awesome since it works at not only assisting those that are being abused, but also in the prevention of child abuse. It is a safe place to go, for a child that needs to talk to someone that understands what they are going through. It’s a rich resource for those adults looking to help a child that is being abused. They are to be commended in their work with children.

Next time you are in need of help with a child you suspect is being abused, please call the ChildHelp hotline.
