Super Senior Specials in Seattle

Tucked into the lush coastline of the Pacific Northwest, Seattle welcomes visitors to an exciting adventure playground under temperate skies. Outdoor enthusiasts will have a hard time selecting from the smorgasbord of activities within easy reach of the city centre. Travelers preferring urban encounters will find much of interest, too.

If you’re game to explore the great outdoors, check out the hiking and mounteering opportunities at Mount Rainer. The area’s resident dormant volcano, Rainer also offers some of the best Nordic skiing around. Several other alpine and Nordic ski areas are also close by. Lake Union, Elliott Bay, and the San Juan Islands provide kayaking options for a range of skill levels. Puget Sound is also a great place to scuba dive. If you’d rather catch your fish, trout streams and deep-water sport fishing areas abound.

Prefer spectator sports? You’ll find plenty to chose from in Seattle. Whether it’s SuperSonics basketball, Mariners baseball, Seahawks football, or Sounders soccer, you’ll find much to cheer about from the stands of Qwest stadium and Safeco Field.

On the hunt for a great cup of coffee, to fuel you’re adventures? You’ve come to the right city. Two of the country’s most renowned coffee shop chains – Starbucks and Seattle’s Best – were “born” in Seattle. It seems there are outlets on most major intersections, corporate centres, and shopping strips. The outlets afford the perfect opportunity to plan your time in this exciting city.

With its own symphony, opera company, and ballet company, as well as a wide assortment of theatres, galleries, and museums, Seattle also offers plenty to satisfy any culture vulture.

Pioneer Square and Pike Place Market are great places for exploring unique shops and galleries. Watch for flying fish at the market! And head back to Pioneer Square for the nightlife (and a stop at Elliott Bay Books, one of the best book emporiums in the Pacific Northwest. I’ve spent entire days scoping out the shelves. Thank goodness there is a café on site!).

One of the best travel deals is the Go Seattle Card. The card (available for a range of days) allows the bearer to enjoy savings on a number of attractions and tours as well as special offers on shopping and dining options.
