When the mysterious Mr. Craig first appeared in Port Charles, I wasn’t sure what to think. On the surface, it seemed we had yet another mob figure in town. And since his first interactions involved Alcazar, his presence in town could only bring trouble for Sonny and Jason.

The Metro Court hostage situation showed that not only were Sonny and Jason in danger due to the stranger, but the entire town could easily be destroyed by the man. It was clear that he wasn’t working with Alcazar. Mr. Craig was in business for himself. He would turn on anyone who crossed him in a heartbeat, and wouldn’t have any guilt about it. Look out for number one, and heaven help anyone who gets in the way.

Yet it wasn’t until he returned to Port Charles a few weeks back that his true evil nature came out. What else could we call a man who would inject another with a deadly poison, then blackmail the victim into creating a new identity and financing a new life? There was a time when I was even questioning whether this guy was really human.

This week came the big shock—Mr. Craig is actually Jerry Jacks, trouble making brother of our beloved Jax!!!

It’s hard to believe these two men could have actually come from the same gene pool. Jax is as selfless as Jerry is selfish. First, he gave up his November wedding to allow Luke and Laura to “remarry” on the 25th anniversary of their original wedding date. Then, he gave up his chance of New Year’s wedding to help Jerry get out of trouble with the Russian mob. And how did his big brother repay him? By charging into his hotel, guns blazing, taping explosives to the wall, shooting his friend Robin in the gut, and terrorizing his fiancé. Almost makes me glad to have no brothers of my own!

Now that the audience knows Mr. Craig is really Jerry Jacks, it is just a matter of time before Port Charles finds out. The Jacks brothers have always helped each other out of tough situations. Somehow, though, I don’t think this is one that Jax will be able to help with. It’s not likely something he will want to help his brother out of. Could Jerry have gone too far this time? Could he have managed to push his brother and his mother so far away that there is no hope for the family? Guess we will just have to wait and see.
