Mother's Day Cards and e-greetings

Anna Jarvis wanted to do something to honor the memory of her mother who died in 1905. So she began to lobby for a National Mother's Day celebration. It took almost 10 years, but in 1914 President Woodrow Wilson finally designated the second Sunday in May as an official holiday dedicated to Mothers.

Unfortunately, Anna came to regret her part in making Mother's Day a national holiday. She eventually felt that the true spirit of Mother's Day had been corrupted by commercialization and greed.
