Billy Graham Library Dedicated

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usFormer presidents George H.W. Bush, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton came out to laud Rev. Billy Graham and help dedicated a library in his honor. Leaning on his son Rev. Franklin Graham for support, the minister attended the services that will offer the library as an insitution dedicated to caring on the ministry of Pastor Graham long after he is gone.

"This building behind me is just a building," said Graham in a recent press release "It is an instrument, a tool for the Gospel. The primary thing is the Gospel of Christ."

Former President Bush wept as he recalled times spent with Rev. Graham and what his friendship has meant to him down through the years.

Rev. Graham was a pioneer of racial equality during the civil rights era and would demand that all of his crusades be racially integrated bringing people of all races together in order to preach to them about the goodness of God. This fact was touched upon by Presidents Carter and Clinton alike. He has and will always be a symbol of kindness and humility.

The 40,000 square-foot complex is built on the grounds of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and offers a re-creation of the very dairy farm that he grew up on. The door to the library is none other than a cross, the lobby resembles a barn and you can hear the sounds of chickens and horses inside the facility. The famous verse of John 3:16 "For God so Loved the World that He Gave His only Son" is engraved on a rafter inside the library. This is the first bible verse that Pastor Graham learned as a child.

The aging minister who is now 88 years old has been suffering for years from many ailments including Parkinson's disease. This library filled with several pictures, papers and film clips will be a tribute to Rev. Graham and his ministry for years to come for all young and old.
