3D Extended

Photoshop Extended has entered the 3D arena with new 3D composite and texture editing. You can import 3D models into your 2D artwork and then drag, rotate and reposition the 3D model within the context of your design. You can also edit the texture graphics that are applied to the 3D model and apply external images such as an Illustrator^R graphic. All this can be done from within the familiar Photoshop Layers palette. Finally, you can export perspective grids as 3D models for PDF 3D and After Effects animation.

Auto-align and Auto-blend Layers Commands

Have you ever taken several photographs of the same subject only to find that none of the shots are that one perfect photo you need for your project? If only you could cut and paste the good parts of each shot to create that perfect photo. Now you can do just that with the new Auto-align and Auto-blend features. Just place each photo onto a separate layer of your image composite and Photoshop will analyze and align/overlap the layers for your. How cool is that? Then you are ready to apply a layer mask and reveal the good parts of each photo.

Zoomify^TM Exported

Another new feature that is sure to become a favorite of web designers is the Zoomify export feature. You can export a high resolution image in the Zoomify format to be used on the web. Photoshop will automatically slice your high resolution image into many smaller JPEG images and generate the HTML code needed by the Adobe Flash^R Player. You then upload these to your website. Your visitors can use the Flash Player to zoom and pan the high resolution image. Even viewers on low-speed internet connections can view a high resolution image. This is great for online product catalogs and advertizing projects.

Adobe Device Central CS3

Photoshop has gone beyond the web and print to include mobile phones and other devices. With Device Central CS3 you can preview, test and optimize your project for use on many devices. You can use the built-in, up-to-date presets to simulate conditions such as lighting, reflection, network connections and memory consumption.

Improvements to Photo and Video Editing

For the photographers, there have been many improvements to Photoshop's editing features. First, Photoshop and Photoshop Lightroom^TM are better integrated so that edits to images made in one program will carry over to the other. Camera Raw is improved with new, non-destructive features and better compatibility with Photoshop Lightroom. You will also appreciate the improved clone, healing and curves adjustments features which have new color-correction presets and a larger display. For the video artist, you will like the new features for editing motion-based images such as Movie Paint. You can edit, clone, paint and add text to a video frame-by-frame or across multiple frames.
