Caring for your rug:
Latch hook rugs are not machine washable. Caron Latch Hook Rugs can be dry cleaned or hand washed using a mild detergent. Lay flat to dry.

You’ll need to purchase your own rug hook and binding.

I’ve purchased Caron Latch Hook Rug Kits at my local discount and craft stores. I like rug kits because they come with a pattern and all the pre-cut yarn you need to finish the project. They also make great gifts for children and are a good way to get started in the craft of latch hooking. Can’t find what you’re looking for locally? As of the date of this article, amazon.com currently lists 126 different rug kits from Caron.

More information about Latch Hooking can be found in the Hooking and Prodding category or by following the links below. Articles include instructions for cutting yarn, hand sewing a hem, using iron-on binding, joining canvas, fixing mistakes and tips for preventing canvas from unraveling.
Think 70’s! Check out the Shaggy Rug Kits, made with longer length yarn.

Caron Krafty Kids Rug Kits - 8 inch X 8 inch (20.3 centimeters X 20.3 centimeters) kits have a larger weave on canvas and simple instructions. These are great kits for getting children started in latch hooking.
