The purpose of this book is to summarize what the Bible says about frequently asked subjects. It is my belief that the Bible is a reliable source of wisdom and contains truth that God has given to mankind to guide us through life.
First, a basic explanation about the progressive revealing of the Truth as found in the Bible is presented and thoroughly discussed. Various Bible quotes are given to show that it is a reliable source of wisdom.
Second, common topics are presented and discussed from the Biblical perspective. These topics include everything from angels, baptism, and forgiveness to subjection to government. Each topic is then thoroughly discussed. The discussion is followed by the appropriate scripture references.
One popular topic right now is whether we should be subject to the government if we don’t like what our President is doing. Here is one part of what Mueller says about this:
Christians are told to live orderly lives and, as much as it depends on us, to be at peace with everyone. There is no support in the Bible for insurrections or rebellions against the ruling authorities, even when the rulers were wicked tyrants such as Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, Herod, or Caesar. Christians are called to be salt and light and to bear witness to the Truth revealed in scriptures. Therefore, resistance to evil must be within the framework of the governing authorities. We are to be obedient to God and strive to be holy. This may require breaking man’s laws to obey God’s laws. An example of this is seen in Daniel’s refusal to worship the statue of Nebuchadnezzar. … Page 178
Recommendation
I believe this book will be well thumbed through by every Christian today. Every one that is willing to admit they are a Christian will without a doubt be challenged to answer questions about various cultural phenomena today. It is clear to me that the Author knows scripture well and successfully met his goal for writing this book.
