Satin Salt Scrub

Salt/sugar scrubs indulge our desire to be children again; and as primitives to rub salt or sugar all over our bodies. It fulfills the atavistic desire (often hidden) to connect on a very primal level with our selves. Why else would scrubs reside as the stuff of dreams when we imagine some of the most hedonistic pleasures in life? Why else would scrubs be the food we get to throw away without guilt? And may we speak of the pleasure one gets from naming it so many delightful, sinful gourmand names? Some of my favorite names that come to mind are butterscotch maple sugar, caramel candy, sugar, vanilla tart and pomegranate ice.

Not all salt and sugar scrubs are created equal. Some of my favorite have qualities of utter smoothness and a cohesiveness of the strands of sugar or salt, laced with smooth vanilla beans that are to die for!

Below are instructions for creating one of the most luxurious of salt/sugar scrubs courtesy of LotionCrafter. All ingredients for making this recipe are available on their website. Here's a satin soft salt scrub made with Lotioncrafter BTMS for its emulsifying and skin conditioning benefits and exfoliating salt to slough off dead skin cells to reveal fresh, glowing skin. You can make this scrub with sugar in place of the salt, adjusting the amount of sugar, if necessary to obtain a smooth blend.
