"In WASP families, if you don't get along with someone, you have as little to do with them as possible. In Jewish families you move next door, to make them as miserable as possible."
Incredible, I say...why didn't I think of that? I think I like this woman...

It would be rare that I would have an opportunity to be a part of an “author’s tour” but since the advent of the blogosphere, authors and publishers are using this amazing medium to spread the word through the prolific bloggers that millions of readers follow each and every day. Diane Orion author of the fascinating new book with roots to the RV world, Queen of the Road, The True Tale of 47 States, 22,000 Miles, 200 Shoes, 2 Cats, 1 Poodle, a Husband, and a Bus with a Will of Its Own , is my first online book tour experience and hopefully not my last.
Doreen, who describes herself as the “Princess from the Island of Long” joins husband Tim on a yearlong odyssey along the roads of America in a forty foot bus. If you are looking for a “how to” book describing the benefits of using a power flush system to keep the black tank clean, or which rig is the best purchase for your lifestyle, this is certainly not quite the guide you may be looking for. Instead, it is a story of two people on a journey to find adventure; but they also find a renewed appreciation for each other, their relationship and the world around them. Professionally, both Doreen and Tim are psychiatrists; he with a booming practice that keeps him working over 60 hours a week; she working from home consulting for the insurance industry and freelance writing, all the while maintaining a hermit like existence that she has created and enjoys . Doreen’s self-depreciating yet humorous description of her own faults - laziness and a fair sprinkling of apathy is a delight to discover and her descriptive imagery of things, people and situations is fascinating. Doreen in amusing detail, confesses that she has developed a bus phobia, and I laughed out loud at her descriptions of various incidents along the road that give new meaning to the words fear and paranoia. Apparently there are many of us out there who irrationally fear going beneath an underpass dreading harboring the absurd notion that the top of the rig will be ripped open like the top of a sardine can. I can identify with that and a lot more of Doreen’s imaginative ruminations. I have a problem with the spatial distance of the mirror on my side of the rig and any other vehicle in the lane next to us. Getting to know Doreen and Tim was an enjoyable and unforgettable read.
This a great book for the RVer or the wanna-be RVer in your life…but even those who are not into Rving will enjoy this entertaining book about a journey to discovery. I highly recommend this book. You can purchase this book at Amazon by clicking below.
