Shelia: As siblings, do you find it easy or hard to work with each other?
Karmina: 10x easier, because we know each other better than anyone else. We're not afraid to be honest, and we have communication and compromise down to a "t". Practice makes perfect.
Shelia: How do you all decide on who sings lead?
Karmina: Ro-sham-bow...just kidding! Really, it depends. Usually the lead is decided by who wrote the song, but if we write a song together we take turns, or choose the voice that best fits the song.
Shelia: Do you all find it hard to balance your personal lives with your music career?
Karmina: No because our personal lives are our music career! We make sure to do social things as often as we can, without having them take away from the music.
Shelia: What is each one of your creative processes?
Karmina: It's different every time. Chord progressions usually inspire the beginning of a song--they set the tone and mood so that the lyrics and melody fall into place accordingly. HOWEVER, other times we might have a lyrical idea that we try to fit a progression to. Melody is key, but we hardly ever start with it. We work the melody until we're in love with it. Putting a song together is like making a crossword puzzle--there is a lot of backwards thinking.
Shelia: What can we expect from you next?
Karmina: Radio tour, performances, photo shoots, practice, and much writing. We're working on writing our next "The Kiss".
