So, you've discovered a great collectible card game and have bought a few cards. Then you buy a few more. Soon you see that managing all of these cards can be overwhelming. Taking care of your collectible card collection takes some planning and patience. But when some thought is put into a system, it helps make the cards more manageable.
We have a ton of cards all over the place. We have bought card sleeves to protect cards while playing with them. We also have deck boxes that are good to put constructed decks in while we're not playing with them. Then there are the standard white cardboard boxes in all shapes and sizes that hold all of the cards that are not part of any deck at the moment. All of this can take up a massive amount of space. Taming our card collection is a daunting task that's for sure.
The first thing we did was to buy plenty of cardboard boxes to store cards. It protects the cards from getting bent and also from small hands that might toss them in the trash or rip them up. Next we went looking for a piece of furniture to store the cardboard boxes. Bookshelves do hold a fair amount of card boxes, but we were interested in something that could possibly hold all of our cards. A huge filing cabinet fit the bill nicely and best of all it was free. It still isn't a perfect solution but one that will do for now.
It is nice to have all of your cards stored in one central location. It makes it easier to find cards you are looking for that's for sure. It will also help to keep your collection under control and taking over your whole living space. Card boxes are excellent to use since they have dividers to keep cards upright and straight. A shoe box also will work to store cards even if it isn't the best solution.
Card sleeves can protect cards while you are playing with them. Sleeves come in a variety of colors. Some even have pictures on them that make them more visually appealing.
A card deck is a great way to transport your deck from home to your friend's house. Your cards stay protected. Decks come in all colors and styles.
Collectible card games can be a great hobby and a fun game to play with friends. While they do take a little more maintenance than standard cards, the extra work is worth it to preserve your cards so that they stay in great shape.
