Wiccan podcasts

One of the greatest things that could happen to my spiritual journey has been the podcast. I try to search for new ones each week to add to my repitoire of downloads.

The most important positive thing about listening to others discuss their views about wiccan life in a podcast is that I can not interrupt them! I am forced to closely listen to their words, their intonations as they speak with their most heartfelt emotions, unencumbered by a hostile audience.
I usually listen while milking my goat herd in the morning.I sometimes disagree and other times find my self nodding along with the point that is being made. No matter how I react to the words, they never fail to create ideas for me to either write about or learn more from.

Some of my favorite podcasts are pretty raw in the production sense. The people talking are often focusing on topics that have been hashed and rehashed numerous times on email groups or boards. The difference is that these somewhat live conversations have the benefit of morphing (as conversation naturally does) into offshoot topics that generate even more interesting ideas. Unlike webboards or email lists, the natural inflections are still available to the listener so there is a lot less of the speaker's meaning lost.

I think another positive movement for the wiccan community would be for our books to become available for download. There is a clear need for books with a pagan topic to be available so that more people can hear them in their everyday lives and not just as a nighttime read on the weekend.

More than anything, I would love to see Wicca become something less fraught with ignorant fear mongers and not seen as such a far from norm religious group. I truly believe that accessibility to a larger group of practicing wiccans is the way to do just that.

I have included links to a couple of my favorite podcasts. This is by no means all that I listen to. There are so many to choose from that one could download hours worth each week. Please mention your favorites in the forum section of this site!

Blessings,

Amelia
