Nero 7 Ultra : Free DVD Burner Software

Nero is most likely the best all-in-one CDR/DVDR application on the market. Though primarily known for its CD and DVD burning prowess, the newest version of Nero Ultra proves to be a full-fledged media workhorse. The attractive Start
Smart Graphical User Interface opens a clear path for both beginners and advanced users to every aspect of the software suite. The burning options are as comprehensive as they come, whether you're working with photos, data, music, or video. Other features let you erase discs; convert audio files; capture video; edit photos; make backups; check your hardware specs; and create slide shows, custom audio mixes, and disc covers.

Nero’s new version 7 takes things one step further with Media Center-like features that allow you to watch and record television, access your entire collection of media files throughout your connected digital home, as well as take the files with you anywhere you go.

Key Features of Nero 7 Ultra:

Difficulty: Average

Time Required: Depends on number of files

Here’s How:

  1. Launch Nero.

  2. Choose Recorder/Burn image

  3. Browse to the location of the desired file and select the file you want to burn to cd/dvd.

  4. Check the option "Finalize CD (No further writing possible!).

  5. Click on "Burn" now. or just select the file and right-mouse-click to burn directly.

Few Precautions to Be Taken Before You Start the Burning Process:

If you are burning a CD/DVD, you should close all other programs while the CD is burning, and let the program run without interruption.

If you have the option, use the fastest system you have available (processor, disks, etc.)

In the CD/DVD Burning software, set the burn speed at or below the rated speed of the media to be used. Some people have had more success using 2X and 4X speeds on faster burners.

If you do not do this, your CD will most likely not function properly.

If you have a CD/DVD burner, your system may already have CD/DVD burning software.

If you have software, you should check with the documentation that comes with your software as well as the applicable instructions below.

If you are extracting to a hard disk, you should extract to a dedicated directory (not to the “root” of the hard disk). E.g. you should create a directory rather than using c:\ or d:\. Not that you will lose the option to boot from the cd/dvd .
