Any Way You Want It

Hello, and welcome back! Still no real snow here, and it doesn't appear we're getting any soon, just more cold. At least I have plenty of books here on the desk to keep me occupied while winter slowly goes on. I've got a few more January books to share with you before I start on the February titles, which should start hitting bookstores in the next week or two, and I have to say, I'm really looking forward to that.

This time out, I have Kathy Love's latest, Any Way You Want It (Brava). Classical music expert Maggie Gallagher is on vacation with her two best pals in New Orleans when she wishes on a voodoo queen's grave to have a hot fling. But she thinks that's just a joke to appease her friends, until she meets the hot singer of the band in the bar they wind up in: Ren Anthony's playing a song she'd swear no one else has heard in a couple hundred years. Ren realizes she knows his song, and he's got to know her. Of course, he's a love 'em and leave 'em sort of guy, seeing as how he's immortal. And cursed. But he can't resist the sweet Maggie, who's also having a hard time holding onto her good girl persona when she's with Ren, who makes her want to be a bad girl, for the first time in her life. She can't help noticing the odd coincidences, though--that he knows this very old, and unfamous, piece of music she's just been hired to authenticate, that he just happens to have the Americanized name of the composer of said piece of music. This one's filled with Love's trademark wise-cracks, as well as the heat you've come to expect in one of her books. Maggie may be sweet, but she's no pushover, and she knows she wants Ren. Ren fears his curse will hurt her, though, so this can't be a walk in the park. Fortunately, Maggie doesn't give up too easily. It's a quick, easy read, perfect for whiling away a cold winter's day. I'm giving it four of Cupid's five arrows.

Until next time, happy reading!
