Newsletter Content Defined

Publishers of EZines or Newsletters have a tough job. People who utilize the internet most are typically those who subscribe to EZines and Newsletters. They want the freshest, newest information that is available or they believe that they are not getting much use out of the product. You EZine or Newsletter must be spectacular from start to finish. There is not always a learning curve excuse available to you.

Content, Content, Content!

If you are truly a gifted writer or copywriter, you can write your own content. Content must be the newest available, similar to a scoop in journalistic land. The information must be solid without the ability for the readers to poke holes in it via content, editing, or just overall spelling. To continue to hold your reader’s interest, you must place the vital information strategically and then place the background details around it. It’s almost like you are writing a novel but giving the background information. The only difference is a person reading an Ezine will not necessarily have that type of patience. The term “What’s in it for me” will be on their mind immediately and if you do not satisfy that thirst, you have lost them.

The Specifics

The headline will need to capture their attention. It is a must in order to get read. The topics wi
thin your EZine will have to be timely and provide specific detail to your business or niche. If not, the reader will wonder why they are reading it. Your Ezine must always have a call to action whether it be to buy your product, use your business, etc. You can also add a coupon or some other time of offer to get your reader to buy. Otherwise, there really is no reason to go through writing it.

Ezine Delivery

There are many products to deliver your EZine. You have to decide what your timeline will be. Will you deliver a weekly Ezine or Newsletter? Will it be every other week or monthly? Most people do not like to wait two or more weeks for information. We are living in a time where we look for instant gratification. You almost always have to give them something immediately and have something else in their ‘virtual hands’ within a week or less if you can. If you wait too much longer, the information that you send may be already outdated. Once you send it to a customer and it is outdated, you may not be able to salvage that relationship. They may look elsewhere for the information they seek.
