Stanley Greenspan Online Course

The Basic Course on the DIR/Floortime Model is available online for a two week period for parents and professionals. You can take the course at your own pace, post questions for Dr. Greenspan, post messages at the Interactive Bulletin Board, download and read questions and enter chats with other participants 24 hours a day, each day.

This takes place from Friday, April 25, 2008 through Friday, May 9, 2008. The Infancy and Early Childhood Training Course is divided into 15 segments of approximately one hour in length.

Each participant needs to register separately and pay the $175 registration fee. There is a limit of one person per computer per log-in. There will be a technician available for technical issues trhroughout the conference.

The password will get you access starting at 9AM EST April 25 thru 9 PM EST May 9th. There is no limit to the amount of log-ins you can do during the course. If you are part of a larger group that would like to view the confernence together, contact LWolf@planitnow.com

There is also a way for each participant to receive feedback on their responses so that comprehension can be evaluated and self-assessment. You can demonstrate mastery of the basic concepts during the Training Course. All registered participants will receive a certificate of attendance.

The conference is designed for professionals and parents who live or work with children with developmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorders. This includes Early Childhood Educators, Special Education Teachers, Music and Dance Therapists, Elementary and Secondary Education Teachers, Speech and Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, Physical Therapists, those who work with Spanish Speaking Families, Neurology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry and Psychology.

There is a post-conference workshop that is taught by Rosemary White, OTR/L and Stanley I. Greenspan, MD that is entitled, Regulatory Sensory Processing Disorders. This will cover sensory, motor, and emotional patterns underlying challenges in relating and communicating, including autism spectrum disorders, regulatory disorder, ADHD, behavior problems and learning challenges.

This workshop is offered to anyone who registers for the Basic Course for an additional fee of $75.00. This is available for a two-week period from May 10, 2008 - May 24, 2008. This is a five-hour workshop with opportunities to post questions to Dr. Greenspan and Ms. White and also interact with other participants through the interactive bulletin board.

Cost for conference and workshop = $250.00

Workshop only = $125.00

Conference only = $175.00

Registration cannot be done via fax or phone. Cancellations must be received by April 24, 2008 for a full refund minus a $50 handling fee.

I am excited about this online conference and workshop and hope to get it funded and share feedback in a future article. The specific challenges and new findings appeal to me and what is happening with my children on the spectrum at this point in time. I am so glad I finally have a high speed connection.
