Have you ever wanted to go to a bike event specifically for women? Well here is your chance. There are three great womens motorcycle events coming up, two in 2008 and a “can’t miss” one in 2009.
For those of us living near the East Coast, themed-Atlantic Women’s Motorcycle Rally is scheduled in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on June 20th & 21st. This motorcycle event was a brain child of one woman, Nancy Warren, who wanted an event for women to be able to socialize, learn, have fun and more importantly ride together. This motorcycle event is held at the Days Inn in Gettysburg and features vendors, seminars, a parade, a bike show and the money made from the event goes to the Susan G. Koman for the cure breast cancer fund. Men are not allowed in the seminars, dinners, and bike ride.
For those living near the West Coast, the American Motorcycle Association Women & Motorcycle Conference is scheduled in Keystone, Colorado in 2009. The date will be August 19th to the 22nd. At the 2006 conference in Athens, Georgia, nearly 1,100 women were in attendance. This motorcycle event is the premiere women’s event and presents a wide range of activities from seminars, panel discussions, vendors, skill courses, workshops, guided rides, live entertainment and catered meals. The big name motorcycle manufacturers such as Harley-Davidson, BMW, Ducati, Ridley, and Yamaha, all provide demo rides. This is going to be in a beautiful location with some of the best riding roads in the country, so save the date and shine up those bikes.
Another West Coast bash, the Motorcycle Expo in Plymouth, California, May 31st & June 1st. This event features a motorcycle demolition derby, stunt shows, sport bike challenge, 2008 Women Motorcycling Lifetime Achievement Awards, clinics, camping, and more. Plymouth is located at the gateway to wine country and is in the heart of the gold country. There is a lot to see and do and by the way, men are allowed at this rally.
