It's time to round up the ducks in the fun, electronic game that is great for the youngest member of the household. This simple game is fast and fun plus it can be a great learning tool for teaching shapes, colors, and even counting.
Players take their seats around the pond playing board. Place all twelve ducks onto the pond. It will be a tight fit to get all 12 in there, but they do fit. Next press the red button to turn the game on. The pond then begins to move and the ducks make their way around the pond. Now players take turns, beginning with the youngest, picking up ducks.
You are looking for the ducks that match the color and shape that is in front of you. Each side of the board has a colored shape like a red triangle. Whatever is directly in front of you is what ducks you are looking for. Once you find a duck that is a match, place it in front of you. If the duck does not match, set it back into the pond. The first player to find all three ducks wins the game.
Lucky Ducks provides a great way to reinforce both shape and colors. It's also a good way to practice counting. Lucky Ducks can also test your memory as ducks are revealed that might not be a match for the current player but for you. Keep an eye on the duck when it is placed back into the pond. This way you can earn an easy match plus test your memory.
Lucky Ducks is also a good game for three year olds since there are no small pieces, and the rules are very simple. Even younger children might enjoy just playing with the pieces if they don't get the idea of the game. The motorized pond is a little loud. There is no volume control. It might be hard to listen to music or other background noise while the playing the game.
Lucky Ducks is fun and a good choice for family game night. It's simple enough for young kids to play and offers a teaching opportunity.
