Mother's Day Crafts

Mother’s Day, a chance to appreciate all the wonderful things mom does day in and day out 365 days a year.

CD Flower for mom

You will need:
Blank CD
Construction paper
Scissors
Glue
String or stick on magnets
Template (optional)

To hang the Flower:
Tie the string around one side of the CD and make a loop at the top Run one end of the string through the center hole of the CD and knot. You may want to add a small loop so that mom or grandma can hang the CD.

To put on the refrigerator:
Wait until the picture and petal are on the CD and take a piece of magnet tape and peel of the back then stick to the CD.

Take a picture of the child that is cut out to be a 2-2 and a half-inch circle around the child’s face. The picture will be glued over the center hole in the CD. When gluing the picture make sure the string is at the top. An easy way to make sure the string it at the top when preschoolers are gluing the picture on is to simply tape the top of the string to the table. This will help get the CD orientated with the string at the top.

Turn the CD over and glue the petals on to the back. I used 9 petals to go around the CD one time. You can use more if you wish to make a layered look.

I created a template that you can print off to use in sizing the pictures and the petals

Edible Jewelry

Candy Necklace
You will need:
-String or yarn long enough to be a necklace
-Candy: Any candy that has a hole in the middle (I used Life Savers)

Tie your string around one piece of candy and knot securely.

If you are using a needle thread the opposite end of the string and knot around the needle.

Slip the string/yarn through each piece of candy until all but an inch of the string is completely covered by your candy. Tie the end of the string to the first piece of candy and you have a candy necklace.

You can use this same method to make a matching candy bracelet.

No Cook Breakfast

Fruit Kebabs
You will need:
-Fresh fruit cut into bite sized pieces
-Cheerio’s
-Wooden skew

**An ADULT should cut the fruit into bite sized pieces.

To make the fruit kebabs simply push the wooden skewer through the pieces of fruit. To add Cheerio’s make sure that a piece of fruit is on one end to keep the Cheerio’s from falling off. After you are finished adding the Cheerio’s, put another piece of fruit to the opposite end.

Mom CardMother’s Day Card
