To Seduce a Bride

Hello, and welcome back! We're enjoying the lovely spring weather this week, for as long as it lasts. And I've begun reading the May romances that are sitting here on my desk (and beginning to hit the bookstores, at least the one where I work), and only have a few April books left to share with you. I do have a few April romances I'm not going to post here on the main site with full reviews, but will instead post in the forum. I can hardly wait to start sharing the May books with you, but they must wait just a little longer.

This time out, I have Nicole Jordan's To Seduce a Bride (Ballantine), the third in her 'Courtship Wars' trilogy. This time, sister Lilian Loring is determined never to wed, and certainly never to wed anyone like Heath Griffin, Marquess of Claybourne, a rogue of the first order, a rogue she shares kisses with at her sister's wedding. But Heath is equally determined to woo Lilian. If he can find her, anyway. Lily's plans for her life include helping others, not being pursued by a rake like Heath. But pursue her he does, right into the bordello where she's hiding. Lily's got an interesting cast of friends around her, though with her mission in life, she's making some enemies as well. Heath is set on winning her, and he'll go about it any way he can. This is a very light tale, with plenty of opportunity for this pair to engage in steamy encounters. Lily's reasons for remaining single sound valid, but didn't convince me especially. I did like Heath, though, with his single-minded focus on his goal. But I'm not quite sure I believed when he gave in quite so easily later on. In any case, this is not a bad way to spend a spring afternoon. I just didn't find it a keeper. It's earned three of Cupid's five arrows.

Until next time, happy reading!
