Now I Am in Kindergarten Review

Now I Am in Kindergarten is a must have resource to record your child's first year in school. Written by Delane Pennington, this scrapbook style book is filled with pages to record all of the important iformation for your child's first year of school. I wish I had this when my son attended Kindergarten! The pictures are sunny and cheery, with upbeat illustrations. Marilee Harrald-Pilz, the Illustrator, is skilled in creating pictures representative of children of all races and backgrounds.

The book offers many pages for you and your child to detail this once in a lifetime experience of starting school. Questions for your child to answer include those pertaining to his or her thoughts on friends, the teacher, and what school supplies were packed. You can record your child's answers in the book, or let them do so if they are able. There is a place for your new Kindergartener to draw themselves, their teacher, as well as additional artwork.

Photos can be easily placed in this keepsake book, and any parent will find this easy to do. You do not need to be an expert scrapbooker to use this book to it's fullest potential. There are even areas in the book to place photos of your child's Kindergarten friends. There are lines underneath the photo areas as well, so be sure to write their names down. Years later it will be tough to recall names of your child's first pals!

The book is ordered in a progressive manner, and there are definite areas for your child to show writing examples and math learned throughout the school year. These areas are conveniently labled beginning, middle and end of Kindergarten, so you will surely be able to view your child's progression and accomplishments. The end of this scrapbook holds a special place for your child's thoughts on their future, like what they think the world might be like and what they intend to do when they grow up.

I love the areas in this scrapbook to record favorites for your child. I used to just write my son's favorites on random sheets of paper, as his baby books stopped at age three. These specialized areas allow you to record everything from your child's favorite playground game to his or her favorite lunch. There is also an area for your child to draw shapes that they have learned, in specific colors, as well as words learned during this first year of school. In addition to all of these creative pages you will have a place to record your child's "bests"-as in your child's best subject and best compliment, among others. There are also pages to record information on their first teacher, along with a picture spot, of course!

Sending your child to Kindergarten is not only an adjustment, but it is also the start of an exciting learning adventure for you and your little one. Now I Am in Kindergarten will give you an opportunity to record all of your child's firsts in a warm, creative and special way. A record of memories is a wonderful keepsake!
