As Christians as we go through our daily lives, the Bible says that we are to give thanks for all things.
always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
There are all types of dangers that surround us and confront us every day from the moment we wake up. Most of us rush about daily from morning to evening beginning with hurrying to drop off kids, rushing to get to work, running errands, picking up kids, fixing dinner and more never thinking about all of the things that can happen anywhere along the way. If we stop to think about it, we might become frozen with fear.
As written in Philippians 4:6-7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard you hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Christians walk with the knowledge that we are surrounded by angels that protect us from harm and should be confident and comforted by the fact that no matter what happens we know that our God will see us through.
Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
If we reflect back on times when we passed an accident we can remember saying “Thank you Lord” I can remember my family as I was growing up saying grace before a meal we would say “thank you Lord for the food that we are about to receive for the nourishment of our body”. All of us can think of a time when we received something we really wanted and we have given thanks to God or a time when we were sick and when we began to feel better said Thank God.
What we have to do to be obedient to God’s word and give Him the glory, is to thank Him for everything starting with the opening of our eyes in the morning and everything that God has provided for us. If you have a job that you really don’t like, be thankful that you have one as there are other’s that don’t and would be grateful for yours.
We take a lot of things for granted that we shouldn’t because it is all by God’s grace. Take time to thank God as you continue to pray and seek His guidance to live the life that He has planned for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
