This time out, I have the latest from Gwyn Cready, Seducing Mr. Darcy (Pocket). Earlier in the year, we had Tumbling Through Time from her, and it got her time travel romance career off to a very good start. I think this one cements her as a fantastic time travel romance author. This time out, Flip Allison can't help imagining how much more interesting Pride and Prejudice would be if Darcy and Elizabeth weren't quite so proper and perhaps a bit naughty. Flip even imagines herself in Elizabeth's place if such a thing were to occur. Unfortunately, she does this while under the influence of a magical masseuse, and completely disrupts the actual book. So she's got twenty-four hours to fix up her mess, and she enlists the sexy Brit Magnus Knightly to help her out. But it's difficult to keep her mind on fixing Darcy and Elizabeth when she's got Magnus on the brain now. Just as her first book was filled with humor, Ms. Cready keeps the laugh level high in this one, too, not to mention the steam level as well. Magnus is a fantastic hero, and Flip is hilarious. Her bumbling and upwardly-mobile ex-husband adds to the laughs in this one, as does Flip's own voyaging into the past to try to remedy the storytelling disaster that she's wrought simply by wishing for a little more heat in P&P. Ms. Cready is definitely a force to be reckoned with in our favorite genre, and I say, good for her! I hope she has a long and very successful career. And if she keeps writing time travels like this, she'll be around for a very long time. I'm giving this one four of Cupid's five arrows.
