Amy MacDonald Interview

Interview with Amy MacDonald
By Shelia M. Goss

Shelia Goss: For those readers who may not have heard of Amy Macdonald, is
there a singer you would compare yourself with?
Amy MacDonald:
Probably not. I think i have quite a unique voice and don't really sound like any artist around right now. I had the obligatory comparisons to many other singer/songwriters like KT Tunstall, Dolorios O riorden from the cranberries.

Shelia: What do you do in your spare time when you want to relax and
unwind?
Amy MacDonald:
absolutely nothing. When i have spare time i like to spent it with my family, friends and my boyfriend. I'm happy chilling in front of the TV
or going to the cinema or the pub. Nothing too adventurous.

Shelia: What was the last good movie you watched?
Amy MacDonald:
The last good movie i saw was the new Batman film. It was superb. Heath Ledger was truely amazing.

Shelia: What artists do you listen to the most?
Amy MacDonald:
Currently i'm listening to alot of Bruce Springsteen, The Beach Boys, The Killers and Vampire Weekend.

Shelia: Pick three songs from your CD and tell me about them.
Amy MacDonald:
Mr rock and roll is a song about not being afraid to be yourself. I find people sometimes get a little caught up in trying to fit in but Mr rock and roll is saying you dont need to worry about that. Just be yourself.

This is the life is a song i wrote about having a great night with
friends. I was out at a gig with my friends and i just thought in that
moment that life was great. This is where this song came from.

Run is a track that was inspired by a Killers concert. I went to see
them perform at the Academy in Glasgow and they were awesome. I felt so
inspired to write after that show and that is where run came from.
