Denise Jackson – It’s All About Him

Denise Jackson has written a moving account of the struggles that she and her famous husband Alan Jackson have faced and overcome in the almost 30 year marriage that they share. It’s a refreshing look at a superstar couple that shows the world that they face the same problems as everyone else, no matter the amount of money they might have in the bank, yet have found solace and strength in their faith.

You might think from the title of her book, “It’s All About Him”, that Denise Jackson was talking about her country music star husband, Alan, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Denise does talk about her life with Alan through the book, but it is actually about her relationship with God that flows through to the reader. She chronicles the ups and downs of their marriage and family life, not really holding back on how she was feeling at the time of the events.

Denise talks about her struggle with post partum depression after the birth of the couples first daughter and how she tried to cope with both a colicky infant and depression. She talks about how Alan’s success came just as their first daughter was due to make her appearance into the world. Denise tells about how she worked through the separation that the couple went through and how it forced her to face the things she was lacking and helped her to truly find God. She touches on the fact that Alan did stray during their marriage and how they worked through that revelation and how it has actually helped to strengthen their union, though she does not name the person which in this readers opinion shows a lot of class.

There are a few pictures in the book of the family and their extended families. If you are looking for a tell all book, this might not be for you, this book tells of a personal journey to make a marriage stronger through their faith and belief in God. This is not a book full of gossip and half truths that you find written by some authors, it will touch you.
