This time out, we have Shayla Black's Tempt Me With Darkness (Pocket). Marrok has been alive for many centuries now, cursed by Morganna. He's tried to find the countercurse, and now that he's found Olivia Gray, he believes he's found Morganna and his best chance to reverse the curse. But Olivia has no idea what he's talking about, and when the sexy stranger calls her Morganna, well, that's not the best way to woo a lady, by calling her another's name. Still, Olivia has been dreaming about Marrok even before they meet, and she can't help but feel badly for him. And it turns out Olivia's family has been keeping secrets about their past, a past that links her to Morganna after all. But the curse isn't their only problem now: someone else would like to get their hands on Morganna's magical book, and they'll stop at nothing to get it. Marrok is definitely a sexy hero, Alpha without being over the top, and his determination tangles up with his emotions, making him more believable. I didn't feel as strongly about Olivia, but I did enjoy the story. There's plenty of steam for those who like it hot, and action to keep you turning pages. Marrok has friends aplenty to help them in the coming battles, and to continue the series, obviously. For paranormal fans tired of the parade of vampires, this might be just what you're looking for. It's earned three and a half of Cupid's five arrows.
Until next time, happy reading!
