Tangled In The Spider's Web
This game is a lot like Twister™, but with a Halloween theme. Here’s a list of what you’ll need:
• a long piece (about 20 feet) of yarn or string per guest
• a kitchen chair
• a white or black helium filled balloon for each guest
• a small prize for each guest
1. Attach one helium filled balloon to the end of each piece of yarn or string.
2. Place a kitchen chair in the center of the room.
3. Weave the loose end of the yarn around, under and through the legs, back and seat of the kitchen chair as well as around other pieces of furniture in the room like sofa’s, tables, etc. Make sure the yarn is good and tangled!
4. Once the yarn is looped and twisted around various pieces of furniture, affix the special prize to the end of the yarn and hide it under or behind the sofa or table so it is hidden from view. A fun alternative to using prizes, is to write silly or embarrassing tasks that the guests must preform onto a card and attach the card to the end of the yarn.
5. To begin the game, have each guest select a balloon.
6. Guests must race to free their balloon from the yarn and then untangle all of the yarn to reach their prize.
It is quite hilarious to see your friends try to untangle their string from the furniture and from each other!
Video Scavenger Hunt
Although being in costume isn’t necessary for these adult Halloween games, it certainly adds some extra humor! Here’s what you’ll need for this Transylvanian trip around town:
• a pre-determined list of Halloween themed items
• a video camera for each team
• costumes - highly recommended
1. Divide guests into teams.
2. Give each team their Halloween theme scavenger hunt list and a video camera to record their hunting efforts.
3. Teams must race around town either by car or on foot and try to find all of the items on the list. Teams must use their video camera to record their findings.
4. The first team to return with recorded proof that they found all of the items wins.
5. Wait until all of the teams have returned and have a group viewing of all of the video taped scavenger hunts.
Here are a few Halloween scavenger hunt ideas to get you started:
• a “blood” red food item (from the local grocery store)
• a broken tombstone
• a classic horror movie character (from the video store)
Use your imagination and create a ghoulishly good list!
