
This delicious version of Tomato Basil Soup has only three ingredients and can be prepared in less than 15 minutes at home using Basic Cream Soup Mix and a convenience product that most have stored on pantry shelves. Since it has optional add-ins – garlic and herb croutons and freshly grated Parmesan cheese – to sprinkle over the individual bowls of soup, it will even become a favorite of the kids. No one will guess that there was no work involved in preparing this soup.
Shortcut Tomato Basil Soup

1 cup Basic Cream Soup Mix
2 cups water
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 26 oz. jar spaghetti sauce, smooth or chunky according to taste
Garlic and herb croutons, for garnish, (optional)
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish, (optional)
- Mix the cream soup mix, water and basil in a saucepan.
- Turn the heat to medium and whisk until thick.
- Stir in the spaghetti sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Garnish each serving with croutons and Parmesan cheese.
