3 Ingredient Tomato Basil Soup Recipe

It’s versatile too, since it can be served as a fancy first course or as an accompaniment to salad or sandwiches such as panini.

This delicious version of Tomato Basil Soup has only three ingredients and can be prepared in less than 15 minutes at home using Basic Cream Soup Mix and a convenience product that most have stored on pantry shelves. Since it has optional add-ins – garlic and herb croutons and freshly grated Parmesan cheese – to sprinkle over the individual bowls of soup, it will even become a favorite of the kids. No one will guess that there was no work involved in preparing this soup.

Shortcut Tomato Basil Soup


6 Servings

1 cup Basic Cream Soup Mix
2 cups water
1 tablespoon dried basil

1 26 oz. jar spaghetti sauce, smooth or chunky according to taste

Garlic and herb croutons, for garnish, (optional)
Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for garnish, (optional)

  1. Mix the cream soup mix, water and basil in a saucepan.

  2. Turn the heat to medium and whisk until thick.

  3. Stir in the spaghetti sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.

  4. Garnish each serving with croutons and Parmesan cheese.
