Everyone has an opinion of the what the best accessories, software and hardware are for a personal computer. Like everyone else I also have a list of what I feel are must have components of a great computer setup. Listed below are some of the components that I feel everyone should have in there computer setup.
Wireless Router - if you don’t have a wireless router for your Internet connection yet then this must-have should be on top of your list. A wireless router connects to your DSL or broadband router and allows you to connect to the Internet - or other wireless devices - with a wireless card. The benefits of a wireless connection is the freedom to work almost anywhere in your house and the ability for multiple users to share the same Internet connection.
Wireless Printer - if you are like me then you are constantly working on a laptop in various locations around the house with a wireless connection. It can be a real pain to have to hook the printer up to print a document. This is where wireless printing comes in handy. This provides that ability to print from a wireless laptop or desktop to the wireless printer without having to hook up and cables or move any equipment.
Wireless Keyboard / Mouse - there is nothing better than cutting the wires that tether you to your personal computer. Once you use a wireless keyboard and mouse you will never go back to a wired configuration. Though it is not a true freedom as you still need to be close to the computer it is amazing the difference a wireless configuration makes on your work environment - it is great to be able to kick back and surf the Internet in comfort.
Internet Connection - these days almost everyone has an Internet connection and the recommendation that I make frequently is to get a DSL or broadband connection as it makes a huge difference it the quality of the connection. There is nothing more frustrating that sitting and waiting while a dial-up connection tries to load a page. Once you have used a high speed connection you will wonder how you ever live without it! Note - I know for a lot of people all that is available is dial-up - keep your fingers crossed that one day high speed will be available.
