In the US, a San Francisco Mexican restaurant offered burritos for life to customers who got their logo tattooed on them. A Seattle tattoo artist will tattoo you for free if the design you get is a portrait of the tattoo artist himself. A Canadian online casino once paid a woman $10,000 to get their web site URL tattooed across her forehead. Now, the latest tattoo advertising offer that gives a deal to customers comes from a brothel in Germany.
In Germany, prostitution is legalized. Some of the largest organizations that offer such services are called "eros centers," and are buildings where women rent individual rooms for a flat daily fee. They then can work out of these spaces as freelance contractors, negotiating their prices with customers. The largest eros center is all of Germany is Pascha, which first opened in 1972 in the city of Cologne. Pascha just made an offer to their customers: get their logo tattooed on them, and Pascha will permanently waive the entry fee for their establishment.
At present the daily entry fee that each customer pays is five euros, which is roughly equivalent to $6.25USD. By getting the brothel's blue logo tattooed on their arm, any customer will no longer have to pay the door fee, plus they also get a discount on lap dances (a 30 euro/$25USD savings). Although the brothel says they first made the offer tongue-in-cheek, they are standing by their words. And it's a good thing too, as their in-house tattoo artist has been swamped with clients interested in getting the logo tattoo. The very first day the offer was put out there, around forty clients got the tattoo and how the Pascha tattooist has been working overtime in an attempt to keep up with the demand. It's hard to estimate how much these gentlemen are paying for their tattoos, but a tattoo that cost $100-$200USD would be paid for with the savings accrued after just about a half dozen to a dozen visits. If you figure on one visit per month, as one customer claimed was his frequency of vists in a UK newspaper article, that tattoo would pay for itself in about a year.
