Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I want to take this time to thank all of my family, friends and readers for your constant support and love. I hope your holiday will be filled with love, food, fun and happiness!

This year has been the most challenging of all for me. The death of my son Clinton has allowed me to focus on what is really important and what I need to be thankful for in life. First I give thanks to God for giving us his son and allowing him to pay the price for our salvation. I know now more than ever how much of a sacrifice God made for us. I thank God for his healing, comfort and reassurance that Clinton is doing well. I thank him for the 17 wonderful years he gave our family to love and cherish Clinton. I thank him for my rock and the love of my life Clint Sr., my daughter Diamond and my mother who has been with me always…love you Ma. I thank all of my family and friends who knew what to say, what to do, and who was there for me and my family. I thank my readers who sent me tons of cards, e-mails, and messages of love. I thank God for all of you…my readers who challenge me, comfort me, cry with me, and just show me love on a regular basis.

This year I learned that I need to be thankful for the relationships in my life that nurture my soul and spirit. God has opened so many doors for me and my ministry…for I believe writing here at Bellaonline is that…a ministry. In opening these doors He has blessed me with many wonderful material things and I’m thankful for them but in the end it is my relationships that really make me count my blessings.

So when our family sits down at our table and eat all the good stuff I’m preparing for dinner…yes I can cook…smile…homemade dressing, collard greens, mac-n-cheese, rolls, peach cobbler, sweet potato pie….ok enough of the menu because I’m starting to get hungry. (Smile) Seriously we will have an empty space at our table but we will also reflect on the love we had with Clinton over the years and it will be hard but I know we will get through it. Most importantly we will be so thankful for the life and memories of Clinton and how it enriches us even today. Family, love and relationships all reasons to be thankful.
