New years comes around once a year, and with it the hopes for a positive change. If you're one of the many who've made your New Year's Resolutions, and a healthy diet is one of them, let me show you how to set everything up so you can reap the benefits of your great expectations.
The greatest challenge you will ever have with your resolutions are not necessarily the lack of willpower, but instead, the lack of realistic, solutions-based planning and preparation.
We'll set up, in this article, three areas for you to get planned and go from there in subsequent articles.
Area 1: The 'Who'
Area 2: The 'Why'
Area 3: The 'What'
Many of us make our resolutions based on a specific end goal in mind like: losing weight; saving a certain amount of money; etc. That's okay, but temporal. A more powerful resolution would be based on the bigger picture model, where losing weight, getting healthy, building wealth, etc. fits into it as portions of the whole.
Let me give you an example... My big picture is to create a platform where you can learn how to live healthy, 'on-target', purpose filled lives. Since I want to do that in the most profound way, I'm going to need an organized life, where my time, health, finances and the like are organized so I could have the maximum use of my time and energy to deliver to you the best possible platform.
If my balance in those areas are off, I'm not going to be able to give you the best you deserve, so now I have my inspiration and reason. My health and wholeness become the tools necessary for me to fulfil my intended purpose. Let's take a look at the areas:
The 'Who' - Many of us don't take enough internal retreats to ask the right questions and discover what we are truly here for so our lives become a series of random happenings with no particular concentration of focus. What we're left with is a dilution of who we are supposed to be and our overall purpose has the potential of getting compromised. So ask yourself this question:
Who am I and how can a vegetarian or healthier diet and lifestyle help me become a more optimum me? -How will it help me accomplish my purpose?
The 'Why' - Motives are such an important factor in every goal oriented process. You can look at it from this angle. Some folks go on a healthier or vegetarian diet to lose weight, to fit into those new jeans, to do a quick system cleanse, etc., and it becomes a mere 'diet'. There's no depth to the 'why'. Whys always need depth for success to occur.
Do you know what the real 'why' behind your desire to make those resolutions work this time around? if so... What are you going to do about it?
The 'What' - This, after the who and why questions, is the most important one. It's the strategist, organizer, liaison and work-horse of your success and success in transitioning your resolution into reality. Your what questions will ask the following of you:
What am I doing?
What are my intentions?
What outcome am I looking for?
What are my needs?
These, along with others, are the areas we'll be delving into, in this series as we get you set up for your most successful New Year's resolutions ever.
