I’ve gone all across the country (online of course) to see what the big guys are offering in holiday coffee drinks. While you are finishing up your last minute holiday shopping over the next few days, go ahead and treat yourself to one.
Starbucks, always at the top of my list for getting in the holiday spirit and creating that drool factor, did not disappoint this year. They are offering Gingersnap Latte, Peppermint Mocha Twist and Espresso Truffle. In addition, they have also created the Starbucks Xmas Blend and the Starbucks Holiday Blend for you to make at home.
Mocha Spice Latte, available both hot and iced, combines Cinnamon and French Vanilla flavors topped with a swirl of Mocha Swirl syrup. The Mocha Spice Latte features a traditional recipe of fresh espresso, steaming milk and whipped cream. Sounds great to me.
Caribou Coffee is offering Cinnamon Wild, Ho Ho Mint Mocha, and Fa La Latte (don’t you just love those names?).
Tim Horton’s has a lovely looking holiday hot chocolate and donut but I don’t see anything especially festive for us coffee aficionados. What are we, chopped liver?
COFFEE BEAN & TEA LEAF
Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has “heart-warming Peppermint Latte or chilled Peppermint Iced Blended® drink” and the Espresso Mint Chip Ice Blended made with chocolate covered espresso beans, vanilla, peppermint and gourmet coffee. They also have an eggnog latte. I am sorry I don’t have any of these near me. I wonder if they deliver.
Coffee Beanery has a Peppermint Mocha drink with red and green sprinkles. They also have Cinnamon Holiday blend and Peppermint twist to take home.
Seattle's Best, which I had the pleasure of enjoying while cruising, has a Gingerbread Latte (garnished with a gingerbread cookie man! Named Bob no less), Peppermint Mocha Trio along with their Sleighbell Blend to take home.
Peets Coffee has Peppermint Mocha, Gingerbread Latte and Eggnog Latte.
Tully's has Gingerbread latte, Peppermint Shake, Eggnog Lattes, Peppermint Mochas and Gingerbread Lattes
DUNN BROS. COFFEE
Dunn Brothers is offering Peppermint Mocha Latte and Gingerbread Latte.
McDonalds – I don’t see any holiday coffee offerings online for McCafes (those of you who have been fortunate enough to have spotted one) or at the regular McDonalds. You can however have some holiday fun on the McCafe site creating coffee ring snowflakes (great idea for making your permanent coffee rings into art too!). Cute and fun. Check out my hand at it here: Gayle's Coffee Ring Snowflake Art
I am headed out to Starbucks to try the Gingersnap Latte or the Peppermint Mocha or maybe both (I just can’t decide) and maybe I will stop by Dunkin Donuts after that…
